Nelson Mandela - Statesman and ex President of South Africa
South Africa - Cape Peninsula

Cosbert.com welcomes you to browse our online gallery of images from the Cape Peninsula. The Cape Peninsula is unique in that its sandy beaches enjoy the attentions of the Atlantic on one side and the Indian ocean on the other.

At the highest point of the rocky Cape Peninsula is Cape Point. Akin to an angry rhinocerous, the lighthouse standing on top of Cape Point has guided sea-farers around the rocky Cape Peninsula of South Africa for centuries. Cape Point has challenged many ship navigators for centuries and ruled supreme as evidenced by the number of shipwrecks strewn along its coastline.

Nelson Mandela, statesman and ex-president of South Africa, is undoubtedly one of the greatest mortals to grace this earth. Mandela was imprisoned on the notorious Robben Island for decades during the evil apartheid regime in South Africa. Robben Island is a 30-minute boat ride from Cape Town's cosmopolitan V&A Waterfront.

Nothwithstanding the efforts of Nelson Mandela for racial tolerance, forgiveness and reconciliation, apartheid still remains an attitude of mind for a people isolated from the rest of the world and reality.
