BOOK REVIEW
=================================================================
1. Antique Glass Bottles, Their History and Evolution (1500-1850) by Willy Van den Bossche

Weighing in at 2.5kg this heavyweight full colour A4 glossy publication includes great portrait photographs of shaft and globes, Dutch and English onions, mallets, cylinders, decanters etc. If you've already read Roy Morgan's Sealed Bottles 'Their History and Evolution (1630-1930)' and Dumbrell's Antique Wine Bottles then this book is deja vou in full colour. You will still need to visit www.cosbert.com for closeup photographs of pontilled bases, neck and lip configurations of these bottles.

A useful compliment to this book is the 15-page Price Guide to Antique Glass Bottles Their History and Evolution (1500-1850) with prices printed in USD, GBP and Euro for over 300 bottles cross-referenced to the main volume. However, these prices are SERIOUS! The guide claims that these are the prices you should be prepared to pay on the international market or a serious antique shop. Presumably, there is still a lot of slack (profit) by buying on ebay.
