ENGLAND ACQUIRES ANOTHER DUTCH COLONY: WINE CELLAR – A @ COSBERT.COM
History has a habit of repeating itself.
During the 18th century Britain took control of Guiana and promptly renamed it British Guiana. Prior to the British take over, Guiana had been a Dutch colony for most of the previous century. The Dutch did splendid work in setting up sea and land defences along the Demerara, Essequibo and Berbice rivers. However, pioneering work was thirsty work, as evidenced by the quantity of empty Black Glass bottles – onions, mallets, squat cylinders and case gin bottles littered over the 83,000 square miles of what is now the Republic of Guyana. Not to be outdone by the Dutch, the English also decided to drink themselves silly and therefore continued the practice of supplying large quantities of wine to this South American colony.
Anyway, back to the issue at hand, after a year of hard graft setting up the virtual black glass wine cellars at cosbert.com and being meticulous in classifying the bottles according to type and size, the British have launched a new offensive. Worried about the overwhelming presence of the Dutch onions and case gins, the British have petitioned the web-master, Douglas Cosbert and requested that he redresses the balance of power. After taking soundings from his advisers, the web-master has decided to integrate a selection of over 100 of his vintage English Black glass bottles into the cellars during 2001.
Wine Cellar A Pre-Christmas Sale
The web-master is therefore pleased to announce a pre-Christmas sale of Dutch onions in Wine Cellar A to make way for the new British troups in 2001.
The sale will take place at eBay.com starting today and will last for 5 days. Items on sale can be viewed on http://www.ebay.com by searching for 'Dutch Onion' or by seller ArtMerchant.
