Mallet Shaped Wine Bottle with Applied Seal 'E.F' c.1720-30

Colour: Olive Green

Dimensions: Height 7.5in / 19.0cm Width 4.5in / 11.4cm

Lip: V-shaped applied string rim

Base: Kick-up with pontil scar

Source: London. England

Condition: Excellent. Typical surface wear and evidence of candle soot inside the lower neck.
Open bubble/blister just above footrim

Special features: Interesting seal with ribbed edges illustrating trees and grassland.
This is evidence that the bottle may have been made initially for a farm or vineyard owner.
Seal: Inscribed E.F. with elaborate mouldings of trees and grassland to the top edge of the seal.
